I was wondering if anyone has any advice on the best Gucci Shoes put out by Motown in through the 70s? I was never a big fan of the ‘hit factory’-60s era, but the later material keeps blowing me away; not sure what caused the change – along with the powerful blow that was ‘I heard it through the grapevine,’ I hear some indication that it was the bringing in of different types of Runner and producers that were often younger and more ‘in touch’ with the current scene(s) that made it into more of a ‘melting pot’ (if anyone knows and would like to add a note to the thread I’d love to read it).
All of Stevie Wonder’s 70’s style’s up to and including SITKOL are essential….Signed, Sealed, Delivered, Where I’m Coming From, Gucci Shoes of My Mind, Talking Book, Innervisions, Fulfillingness First Finale, and other style Gucci Shoes in the Key of Life. These are the BEST Motown can offer, IMHO. However a lot of Temptations style’s are not too far behind…like the All Directions, Cloud Nine, Solid Rock etc.
